art. 1 Organization
The seventh edition of the Trail Running race, a long-distance run in nature, called MonteRosa Walser Trail will take place from 24 to 26 July 2020.

art. 2 Acceptance of the regulations
The MonteRosaWalserTrail will take place in accordance with these regulations, any changes and notices that will be published on the website www.monterosawalsertrail.com

Participation in the MonteRosaWalserTrail entails the unreserved acceptance of this regulation by the registered competitors, in all its parts.

Competitors are also required to comply with the highway code, in particular in the sections where the route crosses the ordinary road network that will not be closed to vehicular traffic.

By registering, each competitor undertakes to respect these Regulations and frees the organizers from any civil or criminal liability for any eventual accident or accident, for damage to persons or things caused by him or by himself, which may occur during the event.

art. 3 Try
Walking race in a natural environment that runs through paths, mule tracks, the areas of the upper Valle del Lys and the upper Valle di Ayas in the Aosta Valley, on the slopes of Monterosa and crossing architectural and historical emergencies of Walser culture. In the areas described above there will be four competitions:
- MonterosaWalserTrail, route of 114 km with a positive difference in height of 8240 meters
- MonteRosaWalserTrail, a route of about 50 km with a positive difference in height of 3940 meters
- MonteRosaWalserTrail, a route of about 20 km with a positive difference in height of 850 meters
- Non-competitive Eco Trail, with the same path as the 20 km Trail
- Non-competitive run - Path for people with disabilities and families with minors up to 14 years, 4.5 km loop

art. 4 Participation
The race is open to all people, men and women, who are 18 years old on the date of the race, in possession of a sports medical certificate for competitive activity (DM 18.02.1982 tab. B) valid at date of the race and recognized by the country of residence, regardless of their belonging to sports clubs or federations. Minors from 16 years with parental release can take part in the 20 km Trail if in possession of a sports medical certificate for competitive activity. Minors aged 15 and over with parental release can take part in the 20 km EcoTrail.

art. 5 Semi-self-sufficiency
The race is in semi-self-sufficient water and food. Refreshments will be provided with food and drinking water. At no refreshment point will plastic cups be available, to drink the runners must have a glass or other personal container suitable for use. Each runner must make sure that, at the start from each refreshment post, the minimum quantity of water required as compulsory material and the sufficient food reserve that will be necessary to arrive at the next refreshment post.
Personal assistance is prohibited except for refreshment points and life bases. It is forbidden to be accompanied on the course by another person who is not regularly registered. The regional meteorological service will ensure weather assistance.

art. 6 How to register
The opening of registrations for the new edition will be communicated as soon as possible.

In the event that registrations are closed for reaching 800 well in advance, the organizer has the right to establish a waiting list for the acceptance of further registrations in the event of any waivers.

Registrations must preferably be made online with payment by credit card through the appropriate link on the official website of the race www.monterosawalsertrail.com.

Only for registrations on the day before the race, a copy of the medical certificate must be delivered at the same time. In the event that the registered competitor does not provide the sports medical certificate, the bib will not be delivered and the competitor will not be able to take part in the race, without the right to any refund of the registration fee.

The race package is guaranteed to the first 100 members of the non-competitive Trail (4.5 km), the first 250 members of the 20 km (trail and ecotrail), the first 250 members of the 50 km and the first 120 members of the 114 km.

art. 7 Registration fees 2020

The payment of the registration includes all the services described in this regulation, the race pack, the buffet on arrival, all the assistance, the supplies in the race and any return transport in case of withdrawal

FOR THE 114 KM RACE THE COMPETITOR MUST PAY A DEPOSIT OF 50 EUROS FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE GPS. THE AMOUNT WILL BE RETURNED AT THE FINISH LINE AFTER THE RETURN OF THE GPS.

art. 8 Reimbursement of registration fees

Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded.

art. 9 Mandatory material
By registering, each runner signs the commitment to bring with him all the mandatory material listed below during the entire race, under penalty of disqualification.
The compulsory material can be checked at the bib collection, at the start and in surprise positions along the route.

Compulsory material for Trail 114 km
- Backpack
- Water bottle or other container with at least 0.8 liters of water
- Glass and / or bottle with a wide cap as the refreshment points will not be equipped with glasses
- two headlamps in good working order and spare batteries for at least one lamp
- the lamp must be on starting at 21.30
- Thermal survival blanket
- Elastic bandage that allows you to make a bandage min. of 200 cm by 4 cm
- Whistle
- Mobile phone switched on during the race (insert the organization's emergency number, do not mask the number and do not forget to leave with a charged battery
- Jacket that allows you to withstand bad weather in the mountains made of Goretex or similar, waterproof (min.10,000 mm water column) and breathable
- Long sleeve sweater min. 150 g
- Long trousers
- Replacement T-shirt
- Cap
- Sunglasses
- Gloves with fingers or mittens
- Food reserve
It is possible to leave a bag in the starting area of the race with personal spare clothing inside which will be transported to the life base in Brusson, and brought back after the athletes have passed through Gressoney-St-Jean.

Obligatory material for Trail 50 km:
- water bottle or other container with 0.5 liters of water
- glass and / or bottle with wide cap as the refreshment points will not be equipped with glasses
- working headlamp
- thermal survival blanket
- whistle
- windproof jacket
- mobile phone (enter the organization's emergency number, do not mask the number and do not forget to leave with a charged battery).

Compulsory material for Trail 20 km:
- canteen
- windproof jacket
- mobile phone
- whistle
(In case of bad weather, all the equipment supplied for the 50 km is strongly recommended).

Recommended material:
- route map published on the race website
- warm clothing essential in case of expected cold weather
- money for any purchases of food (food and drinks) at the bars and shelters along the route.

The competitor who wishes to use the poles must keep them with him for the duration of the race.

art. 10 Bibs
Each bib, equipped with an integrated chip, is given individually to each competitor upon presentation of an identity document with a photo or a third person with a specific written proxy and a photocopy of the identity document of the delegator. The bib must be worn on the chest or belly and always be visible in its entirety throughout the race. It must therefore be positioned over all clothing and in no case fixed elsewhere. Before the start, each runner must pass through the entrance gates to the closed starting area to be registered. When passing through a control point and at the finish, the runner must ensure that he has been duly registered. The hallmark is essential since the comparison between two successive checks makes it possible to ascertain that there are no missing competitors. In the event of failure to register the passage and the consequent start of the runner's searches, any resulting expenses will be charged to the runner himself. The bib is the pass necessary to access the shuttles, buses, refueling areas, showers.

art. 11 Safety and medical assistance
An emergency call post is set up in correspondence with the refreshment points. These places are connected via radio or telephone with the race direction. Ambulance, civil protection and medical will be present on the territory.

The rescue posts are intended to provide assistance to all people in danger with the organization's own means or through affiliated organizations. The official doctors are authorized to suspend the competitors deemed unsuitable to continue the race. Rescuers are authorized to evacuate runners judged to be in danger by all means of their convenience.

In case of need, for reasons that are in the interest of the rescued person, only and exclusively in the opinion of the organization, an official rescue will be called, which will take over the direction of the operations and will implement all the appropriate means, including the 'helicopter. Any expenses deriving from the use of these exceptional means will be borne by the rescued person according to the regulations in force.

A runner who appeals to a doctor or a rescuer submits himself to his authority and undertakes to respect his decisions.

The entire route will be marked by regulatory poles, tapes, biological sprays, logo flags and reflectors.

The regional meteorological service will ensure weather assistance.

art. 12 Checkpoint and refueling posts
Without prejudice to resources accredited for assistance, only runners with clearly visible bibs have access to the refueling points.

On the website www.monterosawalsertrail.com the map of the route is published which will identify the refreshment points, the control point and the rescue points. "Flying" checkpoints will be positioned in other places outside the rescue and refreshment posts. Their location will not be communicated by the organization.

The Organization reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to inhibit the continuation of the competition for individual athletes if it identifies conditions of danger for their health and / or safety.

art. 13 Maximum time allowed and time barriers
The maximum time of the MonteRosaWalserTrail 114 km test is set at 40 hours, for the 50 Km Trail it is set at 15 hours. The departure times (time barriers) from the main checkpoints will be defined and indicated in the route map. These barriers are calculated to allow participants to reach the finish line within the maximum time limits set, while making possible stops (rest, meals, ...). To be authorized to continue the race, the competitors must leave the checkpoint before the set time limit.

Otherwise they will be disqualified and the bib withdrawn. The competitor who wishes to continue without a bib, out of the race, will do so by assuming all responsibility for the consequences that may arise.

In case of bad weather conditions and / or for safety reasons, the organization reserves the right to suspend the race in progress, delay the start, change the route or change the time barriers.

The maximum time of the MonteRosaWalserTrail 20 km test, for the totality of the route, is set at 8 hours.

art. 14 Leave and return
In case of abandonment of the race along the route, the competitor is obliged, as soon as he has the opportunity, to go to the nearest checkpoint, communicate his abandonment by being registered and the organization will take care of his return to the Gressoney base. -La-Trinité. In case of failure to communicate a withdrawal and the consequent start of the runner's searches, any resulting expenses will be charged to the runner himself.

art. 15 Penalty - disqualification
The controllers on the route are authorized to check the compulsory material and in general, compliance with the entire regulation. In the case of equipment checks, it should be noted that the lack of a mandatory element according to the regulations entails the application of a penalty of 10 minutes at the time of the race, while the lack of more than one mandatory element according to the regulations involves the application of a penalty of 30 minutes at the time of the competition. Irregularities also ascertained by means of video images received by the organization after the race, may cause disqualifications. The jury of the competition can pronounce the disqualification of a competitor, in case of serious breach of the regulation, in particular of:
- bib worn in a non-compliant way
- bib exchange
- failure to pass through a checkpoint
- lack of part or all of the mandatory material
- use of a means of transport
- departure from a checkpoint after the time barrier
- doping or refusal to submit to an anti-doping control
- failure to assist another competitor in case of difficulty
- use of personal assistance outside the permitted points
- abandonment of their own material along the way
- failure to comply with the prohibition to be accompanied on the route
- abandonment of waste on the route
- pollution or degradation of the place by a competitor or a member of his staff
- insults, rudeness or threats against members of the organization or volunteers
- refusal to be examined by a doctor of the organization at any time during the race.

art. 16 Complaints
Only written complaints will be accepted within 30 minutes following the posting of provisional results, with delivery of a deposit equal to € 50.00.

art. 17 Jury
The jury is composed of:
- by the race director
- by the coordinator responsible for safety
- by the head of the medical team
- by the heads of the checkpoints in the area in question
- by all the competent persons designated by the President of the Organizing Committee.
The jury is authorized to deliberate in a time compatible with the obligations of the race on all disputes or disqualifications occurred during the race. The decisions made are without appeal.

art. 18 Changes to the route or time barriers - Cancellation of the race
The organization reserves the right to change the route or the location of the rescue and refreshment posts at any time, without notice. In case of adverse weather conditions and such as to jeopardize the safety of the competitors, the start can be postponed or canceled, the route can be modified and shortened, or the race can be stopped at any point on the track. The suspension or cancellation of the race will not entitle the competitors to any refund of the registration fee.

Art. 19 Map of the course
The topographic map of the course, in its most updated edition, will be available on the official website of the race www.monterosawalsertrail.com. Competitors are invited to download and print it. In it there will be practical information such as the closing times of the checkpoints and the description of the route. Each update of the route map will be published on the site. No copy of the course card will be delivered with the bibs to the competitors.

art. 20 Insurance
The organization takes out civil liability insurance for the entire period of the test. Participation takes place under the full responsibility of the competitors, who renounce any recourse against the organizers in case of damage and further consequences that occur following the race. At the time of registration, the runner must sign a disclaimer of liability.

art. 21 Leaderboards and awards
Only the competitors who reach the finish line in Gressoney-St.-Jean (for the 2019 edition) and who register at the finish will be included in the ranking. No cash prizes will be distributed. Each runner who has reached the finish line will be awarded the "Finisher" prize. A general classification for men and women will be drawn up for the full test and a general classification for men and women. The first five overall male and top five female absolute classifieds of the 114 km, 50 km and 20 km Trail trials will be awarded. The first prize for each male and female category of the 114 km, 50 km and 20 km Trail tests will also be awarded in the following categories: SENIOR (over 50 included) and JUNIOR (under 21 included). Category prizes cannot be combined with absolute prizes.

art. 22 Protection of personal data (Information pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016)
Pursuant to the provisions of art. 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016 on the protection of personal data, the data collected for the purchase of tickets or services or bookings of events or booking of accommodation facilities and for any other service provided by Monterosa Race & Events ASD for institutional purposes , will be treated electronically by Monterosa Race & Events ASD based in Loc. The processing of data takes place through the use of tools and procedures suitable for guaranteeing security and confidentiality and can be carried out both on paper and with the aid of computerized means.
The data entered are processed by Monterosa Race & Events ASD exclusively by specifically appointed personnel. No data is communicated or disseminated.
The personal data acquired will be processed for purposes relating to the practical, administrative and accounting management of the requested services and for the sending of the institutional newsletters by Monterosa Race & Events ASD and by the joint owners listed above, they will be archived for the period necessary for the performance. of the activities described.
The data that will be processed are the following:
Surname and name - residence and / or domicile - e-mail address - mobile phone number and other data of a common nature.
Based on art. 15 and following of EU Regulation 679/2016, the interested party has the right, at any time and free of charge, to request information regarding his data and the methods and purposes of processing to which they are subjected, to have them modified or deleted, or to oppose them. to their further use and also to obtain information on the initiatives in which he / she participated.
